Our Team

Stephen Heiney

Partner / Operations

Stephen Heiney, Founding Member of Current Energy, oversees the strategic vision of the company, forms relationships with funding sources, and provides guidance to the sales process. After 20 years of experience in Southern Californian development, Stephen has developed a reputation of consistency, excellence, and integrity to the vast network of principals necessary for successful completion of PV projects. Prior to founding Current Energy, Stephen served as VP of another premier Los Angeles based Solar Company.

Previously, Stephen worked in commercial real estate and developed projects ranging from a resort in Mexico, where he and his family lived for 5 years, as well as Shopping Centers, Industrial Buildings and Apartments. Stephen’s prior experience in the commercial real estate development space has provided him with unique insights into how to incorporate solar and other energy solutions to property owners. Stephen holds a degree in Finance from California State University, Fullerton. In his spare time, Stephen enjoys attending sporting events of his children with his wife.

Patrick Delchop

Partner / Sales

Patrick Delchop has over 20 years of consulting experience on all aspects of sales, client liaison, operations, and project management. Over the past 5 years Mr. Delchop’s main focus has been developing Feed-in-Tariff solar projects on behalf of the tenants of Los Angeles World Airport and is involved in every aspect of these complex projects from FAA approvals, navigating Los Angeles World Airport lease requirements, interfacing with Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, Building and Safety and City Attorney approvals. To date, over 30 megawatts of Airport solar contracts have been successfully concluded under his watch with more in negotiation. Currently, Mr. Delchop is a Co-founder of Current Energy, a company whose members are responsible for over 150 megawatts of solar installations throughout the Southland.

During the course of his career in sustainable energy, Patrick has striven, successfully, to bring an honest and collaborative approach to all his projects. He is recognized by his colleagues as one who works tirelessly to bring about fair and equitable solutions to the most complex set of problems and negotiations. In summation he is dedicated to bringing sustainable, clean energy in all its forms to Los Angeles and beyond. In his free time, Patrick can be found enjoying the role of chef while in the company of his wife and three children in the West Los Angeles area.

David J. Bell

Partner / Engineering

David Bell, Co-Founder of Current Energy provides vital support in design and engineering to the renewables power industry. David has over twenty years of engineering and design experience, coupled with over ten years devoted to the Solar Photovoltaic Industry. He provides essential guidance from concept to implementation. David has a proven record of completing a high volume of complex projects with accuracy and efficiency.

Over the past ten years, David has been at the forefront of the industry with a focus on Design, Engineering, Construction and Project Management. He has both overseen and personally designed, permitted, and managed the construction of hundreds of projects across California, in addition to the Hawaiian Islands and New York State. David has successfully developed, designed, engineered, and consulted on well over 200 Megawatts worth of Photovoltaic Projects, as well as unique Solar PV Structures, Energy Storage Systems and Electric Vehicle Charging Stations. His strategic partnerships with industry leaders augmented by his extensive background have allowed him to create unique solutions to complex requirements. David was a Masters candidate in Civil Engineering in 2007 when he left to to start his first Solar Energy Company which led to a lasting career in Reneables, he also holds a degree in Economics. David resides in Redondo Beach, California and when he is not designing or coordinating projects, he is generally found hiking or at the beach with his wife or cycling in the Rancho Palos Verdes area.
