Steve Argubrite, Van Nuys Prop Park
Steve Argubrite, co-owner of the Van Nuys Prop Park, talks about why he chose to use Current Energy to design, build, and manage his solar energy system.
One of the largest solar projects in Los Angeles: 6,569 modules across nine hangar roofs and two carports at Van Nuys Airport, producing 4.5 million kilowatt hours a year.
Airport hangars are close to an ideal solar host — large uninterrupted roof planes, a daytime load profile and long-term tenants — and close to a worst case for access, because the aircraft underneath do not stop moving while you work. The array spans 150,000 square feet of roof across nine hangars, with two carports added over the parking areas.
The published case study states nine hangars in its text and twelve in a gallery caption. We have used the figure from the body copy and flagged the discrepancy for the client to confirm.

Some numbers for this project are not in our published record, so they are marked [TO CONFIRM] above rather than estimated. We would rather show a gap than a figure we cannot stand behind. If you are evaluating us and need them, ask and we will get them from the project file — (888) 899-9484.
