Dean Vitakis, Vitco Foods
Dean Vitakis, the owner of Vitco Foods in Ontario, CA, talks about his experience with Current Energy.
A 123,000 square-foot perishable food distributor in Ontario with the load profile that makes the strongest case for solar: refrigeration that never switches off.
Perishable distribution runs compressors around the clock and pays for it in both consumption and demand. Vitco supplies restaurants and hospitals across California with frozen and perishable goods — meat and seafood — and had energy costs that were high and rising. The design put the array on parking canopies rather than the roof, which the owner specifically credited as the right call for the site.
